An Ode to ConvUrgency.com – a Great Web Hosting Provider!

I recently switched web hosts. I had maxed out the number of addon domains and disk space with my previous host, and I wasn't extremely happy with the support or the speed. My web hosting, wordpress hosting and wordpress template design are all provided by ConvUrgency.com. So far, I'm more than satisfied with the service!

I've been around the block when it comes to web hosts, from the Geocities & Tripods of the world to 1and1, Siteocity and a number of other paid hosts. Thus far, ConvUrgency.com is by far the best for personal and small business web hosting.

In no particular order, here are the reasons why they are the best host I've ever had:

  • Shared hosting with loads of disk space, unlimited domains, and great prices
  • Shared SSL cerificate is included in the cost, which is good enough to get started with. Soon I'll upgrade to a private SSL, and it's only $75 to do so.
  • Fantastic, professional, knowledgeable (and patient) support
  • Decent knowledge base
  • Very fast server response time
  • Large and secure data center

It was a breeze switching from my previous host. I just did backed up the files and MySQL databases from my previous host, created an account at ConvUrgency, and uploaded the files. Once I updated my DNS entries for my domains in my registrar, I was up and running without any problems. I've had a few questions and issues for which I submitted support tickets, and the issues were resolved very fast. I can't say it enough, the support team is just awesome!

Thus far I haven't run into a single bug. On my last host (Siteocity), the 'nobody' account was disabled for security reasons, so I had to find workarounds for every web application that wanted to send emails.

Anyhow, check ConvUrgency.com out, you'll probably be as surprised as I was at the very inexpensive plans! Who knows, maybe one day I'll have enough traffic to merit a dedicated server. I'll let you know how that goes!
