I love independent music, by unsigned bands. Generally speaking, they tend to me more raw, more artistic, more expressive. This is simply because there's no label influencing the outcome of their art.

Yes, I had attempted to start an indie music forum, but it flopped. I'm now contented to just tune in to internet radio and spend my time reading about new unsigned artists on well established sites. I'm not a huge fan of mainstream Rap Bands, but again, I do like some of the unsigned stuff. I think my favourite artist would have to be Del the Funky Homosapien.
